Review of The Brothers McMullen (1995) by Codie E — 28 Aug 2007

Although the film does look dirty and some of the performances are far from good, this is a well written and engaging film. And it's legacy and place in American-Indie history is hard to deny. Whether you like it or not it paved the way for indie's to be made and marketed as studio fares and another film may have instigated it, had this film not come along, but the lineage is clear, the template of the marketability of this film is still seen with Garden State and Little Miss Sunshine.
