What might not be so well known as that, in pretty much all these cases, the original tales were definitely NOT for kids: they've since been dumbed and neutered down quite a bit. In this film, the Brothers Grimm are actually travelling con-men, who are forced to confront a real magical curse in an enchanted forest. Perhaps not surprisingly from Terry Gilliam, it does occassionally feel like a Monty Python film. I'm also not sure why Monica Belluci is given top-billing for it: although her character is important to the plot, she isn't really in the th film all that much.
Good idea, but poor execution.
