Review of The Brothers Bloom (2008) by Jason G — 09 Mar 2010
Cleverly written...
Lots of non-linear material for the non-linear viewer.
Well shot with a likable cast and gorgeous scenery...
THE BROTHERS BLOOM is, at first glance, a silly movie that is not meant to be taken seriously. That is, until you've finished watching it. Take the time then to stop and think about ...(and reflect upon)... what you've seen.
Robbie Coltrane is great as is Maximillian Schell. Adrian Brody and Rachel Weisz play very nicely off of one another.
BROTHERS BLOOM is very, very well done and deserves multiple viewings to truly appreciate.
First BRICK and then this?
Rian Johnson certainly has a bright future in film.
