Review of The Brothers Bloom (2008) by Jim C — 17 May 2010
'The Brothers Bloom' out-Ocean's-Elevens Ocean's Eleven. Figuring out who's conning whom takes up most of your time, but it's hard to take your eyes off the screen because Rachel Weisz is too damned good.
Adrian Brody and Mark Ruffalo are also very good, but it's Weisz who's the scene stealer. Robbie Coltrane gets to show his majestically funny intellectual side and Maximillian Schell is a prime arch villain.
The movie's a romp and is thoroughly enjoyable.
