I don't know precisely what it is I really liked about this film, and maybe that's the point. It is all over the place in the best possible way, and manages to be both very together and all up in the air at the same time.

I really loved the story, although it did get a bit convoluted as it reached a climax, but the sheer likability of those involved kept me from ever wanting to question it at any point. I loved it's feel, the script was very good, and it just had a sense of fanciful fun that I found hard to find the will to fight.

I do, however, think that maybe some of the more tenuous or underwhelming aspects of the film may have been improved upon had someone like Wes Anderson taken the helm, but I can't fault Rian Johnson's efforts as they more or less kept me captivated throughout.

It is not a film that will echo through the ages, or one that you will want to re-watch a hundred times over, but it's got a great heart, a lovely feel, and packs just the right sort of a punch if you are in such a mood.
