Review of The Brothers Bloom (2008) by Sol C — 19 Dec 2010
The film was ok, but could have been much better. The film lacked the style of the Coen Bros. films or Wes Anderson films and this film needed that style to tell this story. If the film was directed by the Coen Bros. or Wes Anderson it would have been a much better film.
Actingwise, everyone delivers and shines. There is a good on screen chemistry between Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo. There is also good chemistry between Brody and Weisz. Rinko Kikuchi also did a great job in the film. The script is well written and has cleaver dialog.
Overall, the film is only worth checking out for the performances.
