Review of The Brothers Bloom (2008) by Lorne L — 31 Mar 2011
This is a fantastic comedy farce that carries itself very well. There is so much to enjoy in this movie. Small nuances in every scene that make you smile and watch very carefully as they move through scenes.
The movie gets you started with a wonderful hook and keeps you entertained with a number of intertwined threads that spell mischief and fun. It's especially gratifying to see the timing and chemistry between so many actors. In the end, everyone gets what they want, including the audience.
I would have rated it a higher, but the film hits a slow point near the end where it is obvious that they weren't quite sure how to tie up the loose ends and make it all work. If it had been tightened up a little more, this certainly would have been 4.5 or 5. However, I will be adding this to my movie collection. It's just that much fun.
