Review of The Brothers Bloom (2008) by Christine R — 10 May 2011
Quirky, charming, visually delightful, but a bit contrived. Somehow the contrived aspect mostly works, considering it's about con-men. I like how the movie blurs reality & story-telling both literally in the plot and in its way of unfolding the plot.
The ludicrous aspects work in its favor when you view them that way. It's not meant to feel real, except in the feelings of the characters.
