Review of The Brother from Another Planet (1984) by Aaron B — 03 Aug 2010
I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I would. It sounded kitchy and I thought it might be a blaxploitation take on an alien film, but I was wrong. It does take place in Harlem and the alien is black along with the majority of the cast, but it's loaded with social commentary and moves at a slower pace than something like Hell Up In Harlem.
John Sayles as the white alien is particularly good.
