Review of The Bronze (2016) by Dennis J — 19 Mar 2016
Count me in. A gymnast told me she loved it - and I'm guessing that this will become a cult film for women athletes. As for me, it's a throwback to those trashy drive-in comedies of the 70s and 80s like ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL, HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD, REVENGE OF THE CHEERLEADERS, etc.
, that made youthful moviegoing a scream in those "innocent" days before home video spoiled half the fun. Writer/star Melissa Rauch is too young to have experienced those days first-hand - but she sure knows what made them work.
If you enjoy the film, don't forget to stick around for Rauch's hilarious rap song that plays over the end credits. As to that 68% of "critics" who hated it - don't trust anyone under 40.
