Review of The Broken Circle Breakdown (2012) by Scott F — 19 Jan 2014
Some incredibly powerful scenes punctuate a riveting descent into Hell but for me the character of Didier was entirely repellent, which I don't believe was the intention. Though the bluegrass music is beautiful, the musicians are annoying, which detracts from the intensity of the film.
As always I admire an ambitious failure much more than a modest success, and this certainly fits the former bill.
