Review of The Broadway Melody (1929) by Deryck K — 04 Oct 2007
The movie had its charm, its moments, and its wonderful dance numbers. Unfortunately, I expected way too much from it. I realize that full-length sound features were a relatively new thing, but this movie seemed to have trouble dealing with all the technical aspects.
I loved the melodrama. I could give or take the music. And coming from me, that's saying something.
