Review of The Bridges of Madison County (1995) by Meghan G — 17 Apr 2008
I thought Meryl Streep was wonderful in this movie. Although I didn't feel that her accent was authentic (my grandparents are from Italy), I felt the rest of her performance was. She actually reminded me of my grandmother at some points with her gestures.
I also thought Clint Eastwood was wonderful. What I didn't like was any of the parts with the two grown children. Not only were most of these scenes awkward and boring, but the two actors were AWFUL.
It definitely took away from the film as a whole, which was sad and beautiful, but also quite sappy and depressing.
