Review of The Bridges of Madison County (1995) by Mirko B — 29 Sep 2008
I loved this film. It shows what love should be all about. Clint Eastwood is surprisingly good as a director, and the decision to keep the story simple and special-effects-free were what made watching this film such a good experience.
Meryl Streep is captivating as usual, and Eastwood's performance is charming in its shyness. The shortest affairs always leave the biggest impressions, it seems. A premise similar to the one of James Cameron's Titanic, accomplished to a far bigger effect with far simpler means.
