Review of The Bridges of Madison County (1995) by Jessie W — 24 Dec 2010
Very unexpectedly wonderful. Loved the following scenes:
- Francesca's realization that her love with Robert would lose its magic the moment she left with him.
- Robert's big declaration: "This kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime.".
- Francesca's monologue along the lines of "love's mystery is pure and absolute; my love with Robert could not exist if we were together, and my love with Richard would disappear if we were apart.".
- Robert ties Francesca's cross to his rearview mirror.
- Richard tells Francesca something like "I know you had dreams of your own, and I wasn't able to fulfill them... I love you so very much.".
An extremely slow movie though...
