Although the prospect of a romantic Clint Eastwood film will raise eyebrows, he is completely convincing as a wandering photographer and more than holds up against the typically excellent Meryl Streep as the housewife he becomes involved with.
His direction results in a film that is intelligent, subtle, wise... and yes, romantic.
