Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Ben A — 09 Mar 2008
Overrated and has a nationistic overtone. The plot rests on the idea that Japanese engineers need the British to accomplish a task. I thought this subtle "white elitism" was a little offensive.
However, I've strayed off the film's main point. The film stresses the importance of upholding the law no matter what those laws are. Without laws, there is no civilization. Great ending too.
