Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Judson B — 13 Jul 2008
Often regarded as one of the greatest cinematic tales of war, Lean's film is certainly filled with scenes of epic grandeur and sparkling heroism. It's also filled with a few extremely dull patches- hence its overlong running time- and little to like about any of its central characters.
Satisfying, though, and filmed beautifully in Cinemascope.
