Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Susan P — 23 Jul 2008
This was the first time I had seen this movie. As usual with David Lean, it was entertaining and highly watchable. The picture looked great on the remastered DVD we got out of the library.
It was well-acted throughout, and the story was actually rather grittier than I had anticipated. It dragged a bit during the trek through the jungle, perhaps, but the finale is a corker.
Next up--Laurence of Arabia!
