Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Liz D — 17 Aug 2008
Another movie on AFI's top 100 movies, and one that rightfully deserves the spot. While long (Which AFI movie isn't?) it details a POW camp in such a way that one finds themselves feeling sorry for those running the camp just the same as those that are in it.
The end, which should rightfully feel like a victory, feels sad and overwhelming. Incredibly depressing and incredibly well told.
