Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Millo T — 01 Feb 2010
Epic, magnificent war drama directed by David Lean, based on the novel by Pierre Boulle (of Monkey Planet fame).
Knockout performance by Sir Alec Guinness (probably the best of his career). And who could ever forget the marvellous whistling theme version of 'Colonel Bogey's March'?
Blitzed the Academy Awards that year, winning seven Oscars, each thoroughly well-deserved.
This is that rarest of all films...one that impacts significantly on each individual who has ever had the privilege of seeing it.
