John Hughes is the king of the quintessential high school flick, but this modern classic critique of American teen culture might just be his masterpiece. It may be dated, dialogue-heavy and theatrical, but even to this day, The Breakfast Club blows teen psychology wide open, giving us the ultimate high school psychodrama: a house of cards precariously propped up by adolescent angst and pubescent preconceptions.

Goofy 80s charm swings in full force throughout, yet the films graceful balance between zany entertainment, sincere reflection and animosity of character offers a portrait of teendom set to forever remain original, raw and unforgettable. One of cinema's true greats.
