Wow. And I mean wow. What a difference a couple generations can make huh? Everyone absolutely loved this movie when it first came out right? And people continue to love it today? I sure as hell didn't.

I found almost nothing to like about this movie. I like Emilio Estevez. That's it. And I'll admit that some of the things they talk about (when Judd's character isn't screaming at them or acting like some escaped lunatic) are very touching and thought provoking.

But I couldn't enjoy it because of one thing. It's not like the whole movie is crap, but there's one element that just drags it down so badly that I couldn't enjoy most of it: Judd Nelson.

By god is his character terrible. Not terribly acted, oh no, just terrible. There's nothing to like about him, and yet he ends up with one of the girls at the end?! You're supposed to identify with him in some way, but all I saw was a serial killer/ abusive husband in teenager form.

If he said or did half the things he did in the movie today he'd have already been in juvie the moment the movie started. But no, he's the 'lovable criminal' who's just 'misunderstood' and needs a ' little bit of love' to set him straight.

Bullshit. Maybe I missed something, but he just ruined the entire film for me. He just was far too outlandish and cruel. I never had an inkling to see this movie, but it got turned on somehow. I'm sure there's some likeability to it, but I couldn't get past the glare of Judd Nelson.

Sorry.
