Review of The Breakfast Club (1985) by Nancy F — 11 Jul 2015
I cried, but I cry at everything - this movie doesn't have any continuity in terms of how the characters behave. The charater development jumps around, and the part at the end where Ringwald's character changes how Basketcase looks so that the jock will love her is just not great LOL. I didn't get offended at the idea, but the idea of that was iffy. This is an older film so I understand how that transformation surprised audiences, but i'm thinking this movie was only rated highly because people feel sentimental about this high school movie because there simply weren't a lot back then. The badboy goes from insulting everyone to helping everyone, then to insulting the shit out of Claire (Ringwald) after which then they predictably fall in love.
This movie basically didn't make sense.
