Review of The Break-Up (2006) by John A — 07 Aug 2009
2006 dramedy-love story starring Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Aniston, Jon Favreau, Joey Lauren Adams, Jason Bateman and Peter Billingsley. written by Vince Vaughn, Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender. directed by Peyton Reed.
When loud, over the top Gary Grobowski (Vaughn) first sees the beautiful Brooke Meyers (Aniston) at a baseball game, it is love at first sight. the two end up a couple and they end up happily together forever... right? wrong. thats what makes this one different. sure, the film starts off that way, but soon you see the cracks in the relationship, which soon cause it to break.
Another film that wasnt as well received as I would think it would've been. maybe it was too dark, maybe people were expecting yet another rom-com, full of laughs. but the title says it all, people. sheesh.
Makes you laugh and makes you cry, its a good one. ♥.
