Review of The Break-Up (2006) by You K — 26 Sep 2009
A more mature comedy than most of the movies of this type made for the Will Ferrell or Judd Apatow demographic, which generally come across as childishly stupid or needlessly vulgar, the Break-Up certainly makes some missteps (some characters are cartoonish and cheap) and is rather conventional (the plot-arc is obvious from the beginning), but scores major points for striking a balance between structured predictability and an honest dealing with its subject matter.
