Review of The Break-Up (2006) by Kelly H — 29 Mar 2010
Oh dear! After two attempts I have to admit I have not managed to watch this all the way through. Sorry, but twenty minutes was enough.
Vince Vaughn sweet-talks Jennifer Aniston at a football game. His constructed lines are impressive - he is not. Scruffy and appearing to be in need of a wash and shave, he gives the impression of having just completed a twelve-hour shift on an oil rig. Slobbish looks are followed by similar behaviour as he and Miss Aniston 'hook up', eventually sharing a Chicago condo.
It is no surprise this arrangement flounders as Vaughn has all the real life charisma of a fish on a slab.
From what I have seen this film lacks humour, warmth or a decent plot.
So why Jennifer; why?
Jennifer Aniston can act; she deserves better than this kind of nonsense.
