The Break Up is truly a mixed bag. The film moves too fast, making you wonder what happened during the "in-between" moments. It's also predictable at times. But on the other hand, Vaughn and Aniston share an undeniable chemistry and there's a lot of heart and emotion here that every couple will be drawn to.
It falls somewhere between a comedy and drama. Maybe if it had better writing and took itself more seriously it could have been great. But what you get is a very down to earth, highly watchable movie.
..it just doesn't try anything new. (3/5).
