Review of The Brave One (2007) by Grëg W — 13 Aug 2009
A brutal movie about a broken woman whose husband was beaten to death in front of her while was beaten within inches of her life. her mission: revenge. jodie foster takes on a great role as erica, and her performance is excellent.
she shows the paranoia, fear, rage, and sadness that comes with her role perfectly. after she recovers from her tragedy, she buys a gun and doesn't mess around when trouble rears its head, nothing short of killing her adversaries.
detective mercer, played by an awesome terrence howard, steps in to investigate all these murders who are, in a way, helping the police. as erica progresses through her revengeful motives, you can't help but wonder if what she is doing is right.
she is only killing people who deserve it, and by the end, even others agree with her. overall, this is a thought provoking and thrilling movie. definitely worth a watch.
