Review of The Brave One (2007) by Alberto Z — 09 Sep 2012
A stylish revenge thriller. It has strong performances and cinematography, but I found the pace sluggish at times. There is some tension and suspense generated as Terrence Howard's detective closes in on Jodie Foster's vigilante gunning down New York City criminals in the middle of the night.
And the moral ambiguity surrounding Foster's character's actions are interesting. I think the ending is morally unsatisfying, however. I'll concede that maybe that was the point.
