Review of The Brave One (2007) by Kenny N — 12 Apr 2015
Back in the '70s, Robert Deniro took drastic "true" action to save Jodie Foster's life in the towering masterpiece that is "Taxi Driver." Now it's Jodie's turn. Like most vigilante films that aren't "Taxi Driver," this one is pure, old fashioned exploitation.
But Foster, one of the brightest stars in Hollywood, turns her character into a full-fledged human being, a cut above any one of the "Death Wish" sequels. You find yourself rooting for her even as she does horrible things.
A new and surprising twist on an old favorite.
