Review of The Brave Little Toaster (1987) by Tim M — 20 Aug 2009
One of the early non-Disney animated films (though Disney got the rights and released it). Before Toy Story this film showed what happened when humans were away, only appliances not toys came to life. Dealing with themes of loyalty, working together, bravery, using ones gifts and abilities to the fullest and to help others all come together nicely to give wonderful messages to kids, and adults to as seen with what our materialistic society can do (more, more, more!).
Great characters and the voice actors fit them well. The animation is not exceptional, but still quite good for the late 80's before CG and for a low budget film. The songs are great and are lots of fun (and remain in you head for a while) and add even more heart and soul to the film.
A classic in its own right.
