The sequels are absolute rubbish but the first film is absolute gold. It retains the cultural feel the family had in the 70's and even retains their lifestyles and dress sense but modernizes it into the 90's.
What we have is people stuck 20 years in the past. It's brilliantly funny and "really happening in a far out way". The cameos from the original cast are a welcome addition.
