Where Hosoda's last film covered motherhood and the trials and heartache that entail, Boy and the Beast flips it around and focuses on fatherhood. Using a fantastical setting with some excellent, entertaining characters, Boy and the Beast continues to show Hosoda is both a master-class storyteller and animator.
