While I will give the director props for making it suspense and being creative with his jump scenes. The Boy is a constant reminder of why, nowadays, having a story and being creative is what we demand out of current horrors. This film takes many low budget horror ideas and just does nothing new with them. My problem is the twist for because it's not a very good one.

The first third of this movie is not very interesting and very slow. I was wondering most of the time when it was gonna get going. Then when Greta starts experiencing weird coincidences then it gets good and engrossing. Then the climax comes only make you remember every movie you've seen a chase scene like this and I remember that this whole movie with a bright idea isn't as original as I once thought when I watched the trailer. I'm not bragging on the writers work and I don't wanna ruin the twist for those who haven't seen it yet. It's just the twist should of been tweaked alittle bit then it would have worked for me. But sadly like most Beginning of the year movies all it does is disappoint. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it was directed by the very same guy who helmed the biggest tease in cinematic history, The Devil Inside.

"C" is my final grade for I have seen too many horror to fully embrace this film. But for those who get scare super easily, this will be a "B" rated movie for you.
