Review of The Boy (2015) by Jeremy H — 27 Aug 2015
The Boy is another slow-paced character study of a child with the tendencies of a sociopath. Films that take place in rundown motels in the middle of nowhere usually lead to exciting reveals, such as Psycho and Identity.
The ending is predictable (even spoiled in the film's poster) and it only brings to mind all the better films that have introduced us to frightening children in much more artistic and interesting ways, such as We Need To Talk About Kevin and Tideland.
