Review of The Boy (2015) by Shaquera C — 28 Aug 2015
The Boy is a film that you don't encounter often. It doesn't rely on pageantry, bells & whistles, or special effects... But takes the viewer on a psychological journey that leaves them disturbed, questioning, and wanting more.
With two more films coming to complete the trilogy, viewers will no doubt be taken through the character development of the young lead with depth and precision (no doubt leading to an explosive final chapter).
I believe this film will become a benchmark in the thriller/horror genre. It is honest, it is chilling, and it forces movie-goers to look in the face of unadulterated evil.... The kind that is born & bred right next door.
