Its a bit hard to pin point the exact direction or mood the creators of The Boxtrolls were trying to go in. Regardless of the weak story line, the characters are vibrant and interesting. And of course the animation is terrific.
Certain points can be a bit macabre, so parents beware, The Boxtrolls has some spontaneous disgust.
