Review of The Boxtrolls (2014) by Matthew O — 23 Oct 2014
Chock a block with my favourite comedians and very well written. I don't have children or enjoy going to movies where children are present so I saw this on its last day in the cinemas with my mother. The only other people in the theatre were a retired couple and another adult couple, so it was a blissfully quiet experience.
The movie was cute and funny and didn't pander to children. The voice work and animation were perfectly cast and well done. It actually took me a while to identify some of the voice actors (except Richard Ayoade; he's unmistakable), which I considered a good thing as I was able to lose myself in the story.
