Review of The Boxtrolls (2014) by Jimmy H — 19 Jan 2015
If you're a fan of stop motion animation like me, you'll love the look of this film; it's gorgeous and worth seeing for that alone. The story, however, is predictable; I wished it had done something different, but unfortunately it's very run of the mill, and within about the first 5 minutes I predicted every single plot point.
Still, it's entertaining enough, and while it may be a touch dark for younger kids grade school should be fine, and they'll probably like it even if you're slightly bored. Watch it for the animation, and definitely stay for the mid-credit sequence.
