Review of The Boxer (1997) by Joel A — 05 Sep 2012
Automatically having Daniel Day Lewis in your film you are already off to a great start. He is a such a presence on screen & commands viewing.
But unfortunately this film (especially the start) is a little incoherent & things aren't explained well. But once the film get's going it's ok & it's easy to follow.
It really shows how horrible it would be to live in Ireland during these IRA days & ultimately is an interesting story. Its amazing also how many people wanted the violence to keep going & that was in my opinion the most fascinating aspect of the film.
