A repentant IRA member who comes out of prison to Belfast to start a new life, opens up a bombed out gym but falls in love with the woman of an IRA member in prison. Another great collaboration between filmmaker Jim Sheridan and actor Daniel Day-Lewis, but this is much weaker than the previous collaboration In the Name of the Father, much more pretentious and less engaging.
