Review of The Boxcar Children (2014) by Kevin R — 17 Feb 2016
We're lucky we found this place.
Four orphaned children are looking for their grandfather who seems to have abandoned them. They travel the train system trying to avoid attention and being reported to the police. They travel by night and primarily stay in the woods and eat whatever they can find. The eldest boy finds a job in a small town and tries to help develop a future for the orphans.
"How do we eat them?".
"With a spoon.".
Three directors collaborate to delivers The Boxcar Children. The storyline for this picture has a Studhio Ghibli feel to it; however, the animation is uneven and just average. The characters are wonderful and the storyline is well paced and concludes perfectly.
"Take a bucket and get started.".
I came across this some time ago on Netflix and added it to the queue. Overall, this worth a viewing and has a worthwhile storyline. This isn't perfect, and the animation style is just okay, but the overall movie is a must see. I recommend seeing this once.
"At least we're safe for tonight.".
Grade: B.
