Review of The Box (2009) by Patrik E — 25 Oct 2011
The first hour starts promising but from the point that the plot starts to unfold it looses it's focus and when combined with some serious plot holes and Diaz's wooden acting it goes into a downward spiral of unexplained events and excuses for the story to move on and it becomes unbearable.
I usually like films which challenge the viewer and do not spoon-feed the plot but this film brought to my mind the sort of mental jerk off that freshman philosophy students like to blather on about after a few beers.
At some point in the film Arthur, opens up the box only to find nothing inside. This is how this film feels!
