You should be aware of Richard Kelly's style before watching this. This is essentially the weirdness of Donnie Darko supersized. The movie starts as a morality play but soon brings aliens and surreal dreamscapes into the mix.
The movie does not make sense until the very end but it eventually does, so my advice is to just strap in and enjoy the ride.
