Review of The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) by Marc R — 02 Mar 2013
The best action film of the 21st century so far, one of the best threequels of all time, and the best action thriller in quite some time, this one moving at a mile per minute. Exhilarating action sequences are propelled by powerhouse editing and camerawork (which might be too shaky for some) and a weathered performance by Matt Damon, who makes a super assassin human and almost tragic.
That the script leaves room for any gravitas at all (all of it well earned and effective) is a testament to Greengrass's and writer Tony Gilroy's understanding of the character and quality storytelling.
As Hollywood action films get worse, this film will only get better.
