Review of The Bourne Supremacy (2004) by Tero H — 21 Oct 2012
I first saw the movie in movie theatres, and I had forgotten why I didn't like it as much as the first movie. Now, after seeing it from DVD, I remember.
Less explosive than the first movie, this film begins interestingly and in an unexpected way, yet the rest of the movie slows down and becomes a pancake. The high expectations raised by the first half of the movie are not delivered. Matt Damon delivers solid acting, though.
There is an intensive, although very short car chase at the end of the movie. Unfortunately the film has one longer martial art-fight between Bourne and his felllow-agent. Its intensive and well made but unfortunately its the only real fight in the film. The rest of the movie is pretty much Bourne walking around and the "bad guys" talking about him, all to seemingly no end or purpose. Away is the personal chemistry between Jason and Marie. So: the first half of the movie was on par with the first film, but then the other half of the film is downhill and rather pointless wandering around by a lonely amnesiac ex-agent. It is not what I expected.
