Review of The Bourne Identity (2002) by Peter F — 07 Apr 2013
Looking back at the aughts now, it's easy to perceive The Bourne Identity as the most influential action movie of the decade. The film brought a sense of realism and grit to the espionage genre, while still offering plenty of escapism, and thrills, and one would be hard-pressed to think of a better Matt Damon role.
It's hard to imagine the Bond franchise going the Daniel Craig-route if not for the surprise success of this movie. Less convoluted (or complex if you will) than it's sequels, The Bourne Identity still remains a grade-A thriller ten years later.
