(1984) The Bounty.
ADVENTURE/ HISTORY.
Movie based on the Richard Hough book called "Captain Bligh and Mr. Christian" and not Charles Nordhoff's novel "Mutiny On The Bounty" and the movie starring Clark Gable and Charles Laughton. I have to say this version is probably the most 'realistic' portrayl of the character Captain Bligh, by Anthony Hopkins since his character is not one-note which also shows him to be somewhat of a human being as well unlike the character played by Charles Laughton in 1934. The movie starts off with Bligh coming in for a hearing and making accusations against Fletch Christian (Mel Gibson) and to some of his crew members of committing mutiny. The hearing is read out loud by Bligh's log, from the time he first asked Christian to join him for delivering some bread fruit from Tahiti to Jamaica to the time they departed.
With an all starring Oscar cast which some have won or have been nominated, this includes Anthony Hopkins, Liam Neeson, Daniel Day Lewis, Edward Fox, Sir Lawrence Olivier and Mel Gibson as Fletcher Christian who fit the role who start to rebel against orders to take over ship!
3 out of 4.
