The royal navy is not a humorous institution.

Lieutenant Bligh is an infamous ship captain that drives his men hard as part of the Navy and often is awkward and unorthodox in his approach. His words are as harsh as his practices. The men of the ship approach Christian, the Master's Mate, about a mutiny. When the men finally get a break on an island that is cut short and leads to them being asked to execute an impossible mission, Christian will have to consider the request.

"I'm expected to sleep with her.".

Roger Donaldson, director of The November Man, The Bank Job, Dante's Peak, Cadillac Man, White Sands, Cocktail, No Way Out, and Marie, delivers The Bounty. The storyline for this picture is interesting and fun to watch unfold. It delivers the same story a different way as the classic Mutiny on the Bounty. The acting is good and the cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson, Laurence Olivier, Daniel Day-Lewis, Liam Neeson, and Edward Fox.

"Three men jumped ship last night.".

I came across this on Netflix and had to add it based on the cast and the fact I loved the Brando version of this film. This was entertaining and worth viewing. I do like Brando's version better, but that may be because I am a little bias. The action and torture scenes on the boat were definitely more intense in this. This is worth a viewing but far from a must see.

"We're bloody sailors not bloody dancers.".

Grade: C+.
